The 5 Waves of Information Security - From Kristian Beckman to the Present
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper gives an overview of the development of Information Security from the early 1980s up to the present time. The paper makes use of two papers by the author, Information Security – the Third Wave (von Solms, 2000) and Information Security – the Fourth Wave (von Solms, 2006), as well as a paper in preparation, Information Security – The Fifth Wave (von Solms, 2010). In the paper in 2000, the First Wave of Information Security was defined as lasting up to the early 1980s. In May 1983 the First International Conference on Information Security (IFIP/Sec 83) took place in Sweden, and was organized by Kristian Beckman. Kristian Beckman was subsequently elected as the first Chairperson of the newly created Technical Committee 11 of IFIP. He died in 1984. Kristian Beckman can therefore be seen to have lived during the First Wave of Information Security, which provides the motivation for the sub title

Sulfunic Acid Modifired MCM-41 Mesoporous Silica as an Efficient Nano-Catalyst for Synthesis of amides and lactams from Oximes Via Beckman Rearrangement
Mesoporous MCM-41 silicas anchored with sulfonic acid (–SO3H) groups (denoted MSN-SA) via postsynthesis modification are very effective for the Beckman rearrangement. A simple and convenient procedure for conversion of a variety oximes to their corresponding amides and lactams has been developed. The reaction was carried out in the presence of MSN-SA as the catalyst. The best results for conver...

Background and Aim: Information systems are always at risk of information theft, information change, and interruptions in service delivery. Therefore, the present study was conducted to develop a model for identifying information security risk in military hospitals in Iran. Methods: This study was a qualitative content analysis conducted in military hospitals in Iran in 2019. The sample consist...
متن کاملThe Effect of Dynamic Permeability on Velocity and Intrinsic Attenuation of Compressional Waves in Sand
Stress waves contain useful information about the properties of porous materials; they can be recovered through different non-destructive testing methods such as crosswell, vertical seismic profile, borehole logging as well as sonic tests. In all these methods, it is crucial to assess the effects of frequency on wave attributes including velocity and intrinsic attenuation. The dependency of per...

The industrial Internet of Things (IoT) is aiming to interconnect humans, machines, materials, processes and services in a network. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comprises the less power consuming, light weight and effective Sensor Nodes (SNs) for higher network performance. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and sensor networks are both wireless technologies that provide limitless future po...
متن کاملOn the design and security of a lattice-based threshold secret sharing scheme
In this paper, we introduce a method of threshold secret sharing scheme (TSSS) in which secret reconstruction is based on Babai's nearest plane algorithm. In order to supply secure public channels for transmitting shares to parties, we need to ensure that there are no quantum threats to these channels. A solution to this problem can be utilization of lattice-based cryptosystems for these channe...
